Walk This Way: Her Strut and Her Sexuality

The way she walks can tell you a lot about the way she does certain other things. Dr. Smartass explains in this week’s reader Q&A.

Dr. SmartassWomen, my dear disciples, are a mystery we men may never fully crack. (Our females readers can surely attest to this.) Thanks to the world of science, however, we’re gaining some valuable clues into the fairer gender’s wild ways.

We’ve already learned what a woman’s breasts can tell you about her personality and how her spirituality can influence her sexuality. Today, we delve into a discovery that may change the very way you watch women walking down the street.

From my trusty inbox:

Dear Dr. Smartass,

You’re always up on all the weird science stuff, so riddle me this: Is there any sure-fire way to tell how wild a woman will be in bed when you first meet her?

-Brett

Brett, my perverted pal, you’re in luck: There is one such study that just might address your not-so-innocent needs.

A group of crazy Scots seemingly wanted an excuse to look at gals’ derrieres while on the clock, Her Strut and Her Sexualityso they started some research to make it happen. The gang, from the University of West Scotland, ended up coming across a correlation that made its way into The Journal of Sexual Medicine (a publication to which, it probably goes without saying, your virtual doc has long subscribed).

Here’s what the good chaps did: They recruited a bunch of college co-eds to strut their stuff while they watched — and videotaped — from a distance. Kind of like an average weekend for most of us, only in their case, it was in the name of science (and with the girls’ consent).

Now for the awe-inspiring part: The researchers found they were able to predict how orgasmic the women were simply by analyzing the way they walked. As the renowned scientist Shakira once said, those hips don’t lie.

But how do you read what they’re trying to tell you? It all comes down to the length of the stride and the level of vertebral rotation (or, in scientific terms, “the dip of the hips”). Put simply, the scientists say the greater a girl’s stride and the stronger her swagger, the more likely she’s a regular screamer.

Dr. Shakira“This could reflect the free, unblocked energetic flow from the legs through the pelvis to the spine,” they theorized.

The researchers think a woman’s body type — and thus the way she walks — could “predispose her to greater or lesser tendency to experience vaginal orgasm.” They also recognize the possibility that the relationship might go the other way, meaning that women who regularly reach the big “O” are simply more sexually confident and more inclined to strut their stuff. Either way, long steps and rockin’ hips seem to line up with long nights and rockin’ bedsprings.

Now, it would be unethical of me not to note that these gentlemen were “appropriately trained sexologists,” to use their description. Still, there’s no reason we amateur sexologists can’t successfully reproduce their research — or, at the very least, have a damn fine time trying.

Remember:

When you need to figure out a female cutie,
Look no further than her the sway of her booty.
If the swagger’s there in your fine young lass,
Stop screwing around and go tap that ass.

Until next time,

Dr. Smartass
