In the Disco of Life, God Is a DJane
“A Performance Art Revolution is Born in Germany,” or so says the press release. But it came with photos of hot naked women, so we had to open it. Here’s what we found.
A revolution in female entertainment? Where do we sign up? And what exactly is it we’re signing up for? Those are just some of the questions that came into our tiny brains when this press release made it all the way from Germany to our inbox.
Unfortunately, something appears to have fallen out of the translation over the North Atlantic. We leave it to you to puzzle out:
A new phenomenon is happening all over Europe and has spread to Asia and Latin America and is slowing working itself across the rest of the globe. This innovative concept had nearly instantly success and is the first of its kind. This an all-female, all-powerful, expansive team of performers is led by Evolution Entertainment, the German-based Creative Event Company and Artist Agency founded in January 2003. The God is a DJane brand were launched appropriately at the Love Parade in Essen Germany in 2007 after the company had already built its impressive portfolio of female talent, and has since exploded into a multi-national phenomenon in entertainment.
OK, they’re all females, all powerful, and highly expansive. We got that. And judging by that lovely photo, all their clothing got vaporized somewhere over Stuttgart. Very nice. But the God business has us a little flummoxed. And what do these people do again? Oh wait, here it is:
From the performance stages across the globe filled with enthralling sensations, electric violinists and e-guitarists, sultry saxophonists, exploding vocalists, beautiful dancers in large transparent bubbles, exotic costumes, immense interactive video screens, live percussionists, fire shooters and the most amazing DJanes spinning the best music the market has to offer …
Just don’t sit too close to the stage — you wouldn’t want to get exploded vocalist all over you. (That stuff is really hard to get out of suede.) And watch those fire shooters; we suggest not wearing anything too flammable next time you go clubbing.
There’s also a helpful Q&A with “concept director” Anton Rigel, where he reveals the group’s overarching philosophy:
“Love is the Rhythm – Life is the Dancefloor”
We’re ordering a bumper sticker with that on it as soon as possible.
