Logo-a-Gogo: 10 New Tech Company Logos Revealed
MySpace isn’t the only big site with a new logo. AOL, Microsoft, Google, and Apple are all furiously rebranding themselves for a new and largely blank generation. An eSarcasm exclusive.
The overwhelming reaction to news about MySpace’s dynamically terse new logo (right) has inspired some of the biggest companies on the Net to rethink their branding efforts, eSarcasm has learned.
Giant companies like Google, Microsoft and Apple as well as startups like Digg and TechCrunch are all working furiously on new logos to reflect their true natures — and we’ve got the inside scoop.
Here’s an exclusive look at logos coming to an InterWebs near you.
1. Microsoft
In yet another innovative move, Microsoft borrows slightly from the My_____ design, allowing its own users fill in the blank. Hmmm, we wonder what they’ll put there.
2. Yahoo
We understand CEO Carol Bartz designed this one herself.
3. Apple
Do we really have to tell you why?
4. Aol.
The struggling ISP-turned-content hub turned to Goatse for a logo that says “We’re wide open and ready to take in anything — and we do mean anything.”
5. Digg
The recently redesigned Digg will also sport an updated tagline: “New shovel, same old shit.”
6. TechCrunch
This one requires no explanation. It does, however, raise the risk of being sued for trademark infringement by Digg.
7. Mashable
They thought about just rebranding the site as “Rehashable,” but that was way too much work.
8. Twitter
Really, have you ever seen something go down so often and still be so utterly unsatisfying?
9. Google
Finally, a logo that sums up what God’s search engine is truly about: “We know what you did last summer, last week, and what you had for lunch yesterday. We also know your favorite sexual positions and about that recurring fantasy you keep having about Danny Devito. Don’t fuck with us.”
10. Craigslist
Oh, come on — like your bookmark for the site’s “skilled trade service” section was fooling anyone.
